HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
Full-time, $19/hr
POSITION TITLE: HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
REPORTS TO: HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The primary purpose of the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure that guests have an excellent experience while supervising housekeeping associates to ensure brand standards of hotel cleanliness, preparing proper work assignments, and coordinating room readiness with other departments.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Read MOD book every morning for any specific requirements
Opening of the Housekeeping Department in the mornings when Manager is not in and ensuring the Room Attendants are assigned their rooms
Responsible for checking all rooms and common areas to ensure they are cleaned up to the standard
Ensuring the Housekeeping department is adequately staffed and properly trained
Responsible for performance management - discipline/counselling
Coaching and Training
Submitting payroll timesheets in a timely manner
Ensuring room status is up to date
Required to assist in cleaning guestrooms when necessary
Ensure storage is properly managed to make sure an adequate number of supplies can be ordered
Ensure adequate linen supplies in each storage room are maintained
Assist in the ordering and receiving of supplies
Ensuring that health & safety standards are enforced
Participate in recognition and incentive programs
Control lost and found procedures
Reporting all maintenance issues and doing follow up with the repairs in rooms and surrounding areas
All other duties as assigned
Assist/Take part in monthly meetings, share info with team, keep lines of communication open throughout department
Promote teamwork, intercultural competency among team members, quality guest service through education, effective communication, and coordination with other departments
Supports and promotes a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, and indigeneity that respects and incorporates different perspectives in decision making
Supervise Laundry driver on weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Minimum 1-year cleaning
Must have previous experience in a Supervisory role
Must be computer literate and have proven leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Able to perform under pressure with time constraints and deadlines
Mature and always uses tact and diplomacy
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse team environment
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multicultural environment with co-workers, managers, and guests
Available to work any shift (days, weekends, holidays) needs to be flexible with schedule

Ability to perform duties while standing and/ or walking for the majority of the shift.
Ability to lift weights up to 30 lbs, push and pull heavy equipment such as cleaning carts and equipment.
Ability to stoop, bend, stretch, and lift while performing duties.
Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants, cleaning agents, and chemicals.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
