Night Auditor
POSITION TITLE: NIGHT AUDITOR
REPORTS TO: GUEST SERVICES MANAGER
POSITION OVERVIEW:
A Night Auditor holds the position of being the ambassador for welcoming guests for their overnight arrival. This position will entail problem solving guests concerns and proactively exceeding guests’ expectations throughout check-in, settling their room and food charges, balancing accounts, and preparing Front Desk systems for next day.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Register guest on the computer, check guest in and out, handle reservations, process guest payment, answer all phones and radio calls, maintain “float” in cash drawers
Problem solving guest concerns and proactively exceeding guest expectations
Complete all required checklists/paperwork during shift as required
Responding promptly to all requests by guests and employees and informing appropriate contact of maintenance deficiencies, guest concerns, noise & security, or service issues
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of our hotel’s facilities and features
Perform all Night Audit duties, including posting of Room & Tax, balancing guest accounts, ensure accurate entry of guest reservation and profile information, telephones, F & B outlets, processing No Show and Pre-paid Reservations, ensure accurate registration card bucket
Review/record in Night Audit and Front Desk logbook to ensure thorough communication and follow up. Communicate reconciliation issues with other staff/management
Run tapes for all postings and balance each department
Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for associates and guests Last Revised October 2022
Review, correct and balance all credit cards, reconciling direct bills and Corporate Lodging
Close batches for Catering and Front Desk
Print, e-mail and/or fax various reports for management, accounting, sales, Denny’s, and other various departments
Any additional duties the management team assigns

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of grade 12
Minimum 2 years customer service experience • Front Desk experience preferred
Must be computer literate
Ability to speak French is an asset
Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
Must possess an outstanding level of customer service, be punctual, and well-organized
Must have excellent attention to details
Must be a team player and have excellent communication skills • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse team environment
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment with co-workers, managers, and guests
Ability to work overnight shift
